In case you didn’t see my vote last week between posting a Queso recipe or a Chocolate Protein Smoothie recipe (I posted the vote on my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!), the queso won by a teeny-tiny margin! A LOT of you, however, wanted a good chocolate protein smoothie, and I promised I would post it this week!
I drink this smoothie for my on-the-go mornings (which is often now that school is back in swing). It is very filling, loaded with healthy fats and protein, and (best of all) is seriously delish. And, yes, it is completely AIP and Top-8 Allergen Free! The protein powder I use in this is called Collagen. I buy the Great Lakes brand – just make sure you get the green can and not the red can (which is gelatin and will turn your smoothie into a brick)!
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/4 avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tablespoons collagen (Great Lakes brand - you can get it in its bright green can on amazon.)
- 1 tablespoon carob powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- honey, optional, to taste
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy.
